Motiram’s contribution in Nepali literature hailed

Kathmandu, Sept 1: Speakers at a programme remembered the role of Motiram Bhatt in Nepali literature. They said Motiram had played a significant role to publicize the talent of Adikavi Bhanubhakta.
At the programme organized by Nepal Education Council on the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of litterateur Bhatt on Thursday, Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire, said, “If there was no Motiram Bhatta, Bhanubhakta’s literature could hardly reach among the people.”
The Rastrakavi said the trend in Nepali language and literature could be changed as per the time.
On the occasion, litterateur Prof Dr Chudamani Bandhu said despite having very short span of life, Motiram’s contribution to Nepali literature was unforgettable.
Two literary youths- Ramesh Subhekschhuk from Panchthar and Govind Nepali Sarki from Jumla were honoured at the programme in recognition to their role in enriching literature and language. Both of them were awarded with Rs. 50,000 each along with copper plaques.
A total of 65 poets including Rastrakavi Ghimire recited the poems at the programme. RSS
