CPN (UML) clinches Lamkichuha and Ghodaghodi municipalities

Dhangadhi, July 5: CPN (UML) has won the election to the post of mayor and deputy-mayor of Lamkichuha Municipality in Kailali district.
Mahadev Bajgain has got victorious to the post of Mayor with 6,819 votes. His nearest rival Bhakta Bahadur Thapa of Nepali Congress received 6,255 votes.
Similarly, Tika Thapa has been elected to the post of Deputy-Mayor. She got 7,905 votes while her nearest contender Dhana Devi Chaudhary of Nepal Democratic Forum received 5,049 votes. Out of 39,235 voters in the municipality, 28 thousand 354 votes were cast.
Similarly, CPN (UML) also clinched mayor and deputy mayor posts of Ghodaghodi Municipality in the district.
Mamata Prasad Chaudhary won the election to the mayoral post with 8,164 votes while his nearest rival Laxman Chaudhary of CPN (Maoist Centre) got 7,237 votes.
Likewise, Prem Kumari Thapa has been elected to the post of Deputy-Mayor receiving 7,234 votes. Her nearest rival Durga Chalaune Khadka of CPN (Maoist Centre) received 7,064 votes.
Out of 13 local-levels, result of 12 local-level except Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has been published. Vote counting of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City is taking place.
