Bharatpur hospital to be developed as teaching hospital

Chitwan, May 20: The Bharatpur Hospital, the government hospital in Chitwan, is being upgraded into a state-of-the-art teaching hospital with 1,000 beds. Currently, the hospital is running Proficiency Certificate Level in Nursing and Bachelor’s in Nursing programmes.
A meeting of the Hospital Development Committee held recently has approved a master plan and submitted it to the Ministry of Health for the same. Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee Rajkumar Rajbhandari said that Rs 6.54 billion is estimated to be required to complete the entire task envisioned in the master plan.
Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Rudra Marasini said that the works would be completed within five years if the government allocated the required amount of the budget. Last year, the hospital had offered out-door service to 153,000 patients.
